Zita L. Plese (nee Kezerly)

Passed away peacefully on July 28, 2006 at Lakewood Nursing and Rehab Center. A long time resident of Joliet and member of St. Mary Nativity Church. She was the only child of Rudolph and Mayme (nee Peer) Kezerly. Zita leaves behind her devoted and loving husband of 37 years, William E. Plese. She was a graduate of Joliet Central. Zita retired from Northern IL. Gas Co. after 26 years of service in 1969. In 1999 she was chosen to be the ""Woman of the year"" of the C.C.W., she was an active member of the Altar and Rosary Society for over 50 years. She belonged to many organizations, the Joannites, Homemakers of Joliet, Catholic charities, Shepard's Table, Cantigny Post #367 Ladies Auxiliary and the Royal Neighbors of America, just to name a few. She is also survived by her cousins and sister-in-law and brother-in-laws, and nieces and nephews. ""My special thanks to JoAnn (Zagar) Przybylski and Richard Plese and his son, Christopher. Bill and I never had children of our own. These three individuals steped into our lives like they were our own children, they assumed the tasks of caring for both Bill and I, for that I am forever in their debt. Thank you to all the staff of Lakewood for being so kind and patient with me in the last six months. To the Joliet Area Community Hospice Team, once again, God bless you and keep you Strong. You made my last days on earth comfortable and made Bill feel special."" A Memorial Mass was said for Zita on August 12, family and friends were in attendance. According to Zita's wishes cremation rites were accorded. Contributions to Joliet Area Hospice or St. Mary Nativity School Endowment fund in Zita's name will be appreciated.
