At rest Friday, August 4, 2006 at Silver Cross Hospital in Joliet. Born November 29, 1942 in Oklahoma and a lifetime Joliet resident. Attended Joliet Public Schools and enlisted in the U.S. Navy at 17 serving his country for five and a half years. Retired from Caterpillar Tractor Co. After 35 years of service. Past member of the American Legion Past 1248 serving as Vice Commander. Avid pool player, fisherman and loved to dance and enjoyed yard work. He had a heart of gold when it came to caring and giving to his family. Sid married Gloria Juarez after a 6 month courtship and were married for 38 A�?A�A½ years. He is also survived by his sister, Paula Jarrett; sisters-in-law, Maria Elena Garcia, Frances Juarez, Annie Juarez, Teresa Ortiz, Mary Juarez, Victoria Sawards; brothers-in-law, Manuel (Mary) Juarez and Morris Juarez; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and his pet Watson. Sid was a loving godfather to many. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Preceded in death by parents, Rafael and Jesus (Mireles) Garcia; his in-laws, Dscencion and Juliana Juarez; brothers, Anselmo and Joseph; sisters, Sara and Mary; sister in law Shirley Garcia.
