William “Billy” Travis McFarland, age 55, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, October 09, 2018 in his home.
Billy is survived by his beloved wife of 29 years, Danette Holland-McFarland; daughter, Sarah May McFarland; parents, Patrick and Edna “Pinky” McFarland; siblings, Rhonda (Lyle) Tucker, Tammy (William) Potter, Timothy (Jennifer) McFarland, Kenneth McFarland and Richard (Cherita) McFarland; father-in-law, Bill Holland; mother-in-law, Janet Holland; brothers-in-law, Daniel Holland and David (Maria) Holland; Goddaughters, Andrea Cullick, Danielle Derlinga and Amber McFarland; Godson, Jeremy Matlock; dear friend, Tommy Cullick; numerous, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews as well as, faithful fur babies, Kozmo, Kali, Bosko, and Bella.
Preceded in death by his dear friend, David “The Devil” Derlinga.
Billy was a lifelong resident of Joliet, IL. He worked for the Will County Carpenters Union Local 174 for 29 years and Sunny Hill Nursing Home for the past 9 years. Billy was a member of The Pure Rod and Gun Club as well as the South Side Civic Club. He was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed fishing, hunting and golfing. He also had a passion for motorcycles, cooking and baking. Billy loved spending time with his wife, daughter, family, friends and fur babies. He was the life of the party and will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
A celebration of William’s life will begin on Sunday, October 14, 2018 with a visitation from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Tezak Funeral Home 1211 Plainfield Road Joliet. A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 15, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.
