William “Billy” John Madera

Age 49 of Crest Hill and formerly of Chicago, passed away Thursday, April 23, 2020 in Joliet.

Born August 13, 1970 in Chicago, William John was a son of the late William Thaddeus and Sharon (Pratl) Madera. He was raised and educated in the Marquette Park neighborhood of Chicago and graduated from Alan B. Shepard High School in Palos Heights with the class of 1988. Billy was a soft-hearted intellectual and possessed a quick wit and dry sense of humor. He loved going fishing, was a fan of science-fiction and could beat anyone at the game of chess. Billy will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Survivors include his mother, Sharon; siblings: Mary (James) Pongratz, Bob (Josi) Madera and Susan (Clint) Loukota; nieces and nephews: Joseph Pongratz and Katherine Pongratz, Dominic Madera Hunt, Courtney Loukota and Ava Loukota.

Billy was preceded in death by his father, William Thaddeus Madera on October 10, 2019.

Per Billy’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.
