William A. Zoran, age 84, passed away peacefully at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 after a prolonged illness.
William is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Donna (nee Marietta) Zoran; children, Mary Susan (Kevin) Ostendorf and Christine Zoran; step-granddaughter, Megan Ostendorf; two sisters, Lois (the late Walter) Lindquist and Kay (the late Donald) Coons; grand dog, Jack and grand cat, Penny. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Annette Zoran.
William was born and raised in Joliet and was a lifelong parishioner of St. Mary Nativity Catholic Church. He retired from Joliet Township High School after 36 years of dedicated service. William was a proud United States Army Veteran serving during the Korean War. He was a WWII memorabilia enthusiast and also enjoyed traveling and fishing.
In lieu of flowers, donations in William’s name to the Will County Humane Society, 24109 W Seil Rd, Shorewood, IL 60404 would be appreciated.
A celebration of William’s life will begin on Friday, February 19, 2016 with a visitation at St. Mary Nativity Catholic Church in Joliet from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 10:00 a.m. Interment with full military honors to follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood. There will be no funeral home visitation or services.
