Bill Ritter passed away on Tuesday December 20th in his home. Bill was born in Chicago on December 7th 1926 and lived the majority of his life in Aurora IL, where he was actively involved with the Aurora Moose Lodge, earning lifetime membership status. Bill and his wife Marge moved to Joliet in 2004 and became active in the Croation Club. He loved to dance and listen to Music at both clubs. Bill was an active Teamster belonging to the Local Union 673 for many years. He retired from Roadway Express in 1990 and had been an avid traveler since. In his retirement, he worked as a tour guide for many local senior citizen trips. As well, Bill spent much of his last several years at Five Star Fitness in Joliet. He enjoyed the camaraderie and companionship of his friends at the gym where he worked out diligently and shared morning coffee. That extra effort at the gym kept him strong and fighting till the end.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 62 years Marge (Stubenvoll), as well as two sons, Bill (Jan Schwebke Ritter) of Dacula Georgia and Frank (Kim Raber) of Plainfield. Bill was also the proud grandfather of Jennifer and Kara Ritter of Dacula GA, and Chase Ritter of Joliet. In addition, Bill is survived by many loving relatives including Penny Peccia of Newport Richey FL, and several nieces and nephews.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents William and Emily, Brother Robert and Sister Evelyn.
In Liu of flowers contributions can be made to the Joliet Area Hospice. Visitation will be Thursday 5 to 8 p.m. at TezakA�??s Home to Celebrate life, Joliet Illinois. Additionally there will be a memorial luncheon at the Croation Cultural Club on Friday, the 23rd at 1:00 PM.
