Buck was the loving Husband, Brother, Uncle, Co-worker and Friend, who was ""family to all and who considered all his ""family."" Numerous nieces and nephews are blessed to have had ""Uncle Buck"" influence and guide their lives in so many special and individual ways. Buck was humbled by his call to be a Godfather; and accepted that Spiritual role for his many special Godchildren. Buck provided them the living example of faith and love. Buck's life overflowed with memorable experiences with his life-long friends with whom he golfed, played cards and attended Bears and Cubs games; and these friends gave Buck so much in return. In Buck's mind, his ""family"" extended to all with whom he worked, played golf and socialized. Buck lived his life with respect for each and every person who crossed his path; and he so appreciated their caring and love for him. Buck's legacy will be his kindness, gentle manner and compassion for
others. Buck made each of us feel as if we were the most important person to him at that time. Buck attended Forest Park & A.O. Marshall Grade Schools, graduated from Joliet Catholic High School, received his Bachelor of Arts from Lewis University and his Masters in Education from Northern Illinois University. Buck was a loyal, compassionate and caring friend and mentor to fellow educators, parents and students who he worked with and served for over 45 years in Education. Buck was a teacher, bus driver, coach, administrator and Board Member in his field of Education over the years as he worked with the Channahon School District, Troy School District, Joliet Junior College and University of St. Francis. Buck most recently served as the Field Experience Coordinator for the University of St. Francis and was a Member of the Troy School Board. Buck was active in many fraternal and community organizations, including the Joliet Knights of Columbus Council 382, Fraternal Order of Elks, Lodge 296, Will County Old Timer's Baseball Association and the Salvation Army Advisory Board. In lieu of flowers, donations will be used to purchase books in Buck's memory for the libraries of the Cathedral of St. Raymond School and Troy School District 30-C.
