William J. Offerman

William J. Offerman "Bill," age 72, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 10, 2015 with his loving family close by his side.

William is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Jeanne (nee Passas) Offerman; daughter, Sandra J. (Robert) Betzwiser; three sons, Ronald J. (Linda), Peter W. (Dodie) and Scott E. (Lorraine) Offerman; 10 grandchildren, Cory Ellis, Stephanie Offerman, Meagan (Daniel) Wilson, Brittney (Jonathan) Stewart, Jessica Offerman, Amie, Mary and Billy Betzwiser, Anthony and Jason Offerman; great-granddaughter, Caitlin Ellis; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Preceded in death by his parents, George E. and Margaret (nee Hardy) Offerman; sisters, Joan Tracy and Jane Offerman; and brother, George Offerman.

Bill was a Lector and Eucharistic Minister at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Crest Hill for over 35 years. He was a proud United States Army Veteran serving during the Vietnam War and is a retired member of the IBEW Local 176, Joliet. Bill owned and operated Offerman Electric Company until closing. He was a Real Estate Instructor at Joliet Junior College for 14 years and also owned Offerman & Associates Real Estate and Offerman Enterprises which are currently operating. Bill enjoyed singing country music in Joliet and surrounding areas and recorded several songs for distribution. He also had a strong passion for gardening. Bill will be truly missed by his family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations in William's name to Joliet Area Community Hospice, 250 Water Stone Circle, Joliet, IL 60431 would be appreciated.

A Celebration of William's life will begin on Thursday, October 15, 2015 with prayers in the funeral home chapel at 9:30 a.m. then driving in procession to St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Joliet for a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 4-8 p.m.
