William Gallegos

William Gallegos Age 83

At rest Wednesday October 20, 2010 in Flippin AR. Resided in Flippin AR. For the past seven years and Joliet for over 65 years. Survived by his loving wife of 55 years Aurora (nee Lopez), daughters Lucy (Ronald) Cullin, Lydia Grembowicz, Lisa Gallegos, Julia Brown, son Ernest Lopez, ten grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren, sister Isidira McGuire, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Preceded in death by his parents Zeferino and Maria De Luz (nee Lejia) and his step mother Aurora. Veteran of the US Army Korean Conflict received various medals including WWII Victory, Army of Occupation for Germany and Japan. Also received 3 Bronze Korean Service Stars and a Bronze Medal Retired from the Laborers Union Local #75, worked at Caterpillar for ten years and construction for twenty two years. William was a Auxiliary Policeman for the City of Joliet, and a Lifetime Member of VFW. He enjoyed Carving, Painting and Fishing. Bringing life where ever he went. In Lieu of flowers contributions to the family will be appreciated.

A Celebration of William"s life will be held on Monday October 25 with prayers at the funeral home at 9:00 AM, then in procession to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church 409 Irving St. for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 AM. Interment at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 2 to 8 PM.
