William L. Flynn, US Army Korean War Veteran, age 87, of Plainfield.
Beloved husband and best friend for 64 years to Patricia (nee Frey) Flynn. Loving father of Colleen (Gerry) Goebel, Bill (Sue) Flynn, Mariann (Bruce) Lill, Barbara (Al) Theis, Patty (Bruce) Schaffer, John (Patty) Flynn, Jackie Evans, Cathy (Sam) Milaneses and the late baby Michael Flynn. Proud grandpa of 26 grandchildren and “papa” to 32 great-grandchildren. Fond uncle of numerous nieces and nephews.
William was preceded in death by his sisters, Mary and Shirley and his brothers, Edward, Bob, John and Joseph.
William had many talents and excelled at all he attempted. He was a respected bricklayer/mason inspector and a proud member of the Bricklayer's Union Local #21. William will be remembered for his faith, great love of family and service to the poor, especially at the Shepherd's Table and the Port Ministries.

A celebration of William's life will begin Saturday, December 9, 2017 with a prayer service in the funeral home chapel at 9:45 a.m. then driving in procession to St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church in Plainfield for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Mary Immaculate Cemetery, Plainfield. Family and friends will be received at Tezak Funeral Home (1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet) on Friday, December 8, 2017 from 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
