William B. Cheney

Age 84, at rest on Wednesday, October 17, 2007 after a prolonged illness.
Survived by his children William B. Cheney Jr., Sandra (Roy) Ravagnie, and Lester (Maria) Cheney. Grandchildren John (Kimberly) and Shane Walsh; Tricia (Michael) Kruchten; Joseph and Nicole Cheney; Kristine (Rory Rauman) and Richard (Ellen McClenncy) Bishop. Great-grandchildren Kylie and Jack Walsh; Justin Kruchten; Josh, Cody and Maddy Bishop. Brothers and sisters Gertrude Lenci, Raymond Cheney, Judy Mengou, Paula Tomany, James (Vivian) Cheney Sr. and Donald Cheney. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Preceded in death by his parents Paul R. Cheney and Edith (Cooney) LeCocq and stepmother Dorothy Cheney; one son Charles P. Cheney; and one brother Ronald Cheney.
William was a lifelong resident of the Joliet area and was a residential concrete contractor for 40+ years. He served his country in the Philippines during WWII. Member of the V.F.W. Cantigny Post #367. He was an avid sportsman.
In lieu of flowers, donations in William"s name to the Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated.
A Chapel Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Monday, October 22, 2007 at 10:00 AM. With Pastor Dave Keller officiating. Interment at Elmhurst Cemetery. Visitation will be on Sunday from 2-7 PM.
