Age 66, at rest Monday January 3, 2011 at his home with his family by his side. Loving father of Carrie Sampson and Dan (Sheri) Sampson, proud grandfather of Sadie and Halie Sampson, two sisters Georgia (Jim) Scarpa, Carole (Jim) Shook, life long friend Mike Smith also numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents George and Vita Sampson. Wayne was born in Chicago, residing in Joliet for the past 40 years. He was a member of the US Coast Guard, Plainfield Jaycees , HHWC wood workers club, avid wood worker and fisherman. The family of Wayne E. Sampson invites relatives and friends to join them for a visitation at the funeral home Thursday from 2PM to 8PM . Private family interment services will be held on Friday at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
