Wayne L. DeRoss

Wayne L. DeRoss, age 63, at rest on Thursday, November 27, 2014 with his loving family by his side.

Wayne is survived by his wife of 26 years, Nancy (nee Pavnica); daughters, Maria and Susannah DeRoss; siblings, Robert (Mary Jean) DeRoss and Karen (Rusy) Mitcheff; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and his beloved beagle, Athena DeRoss.

Preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Evelyn DeRoss; sister, Sandra Odom.

Wayne was raised in Orland Park and graduated from Carl Sandburg High School. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Orland Park and former member of the Moose. Wayne enjoyed the outdoors; he loved working in the yard and was the master of the BBQ grill. His Saturdays were spent cheering for Penn State and University of Michigan football teams. His family and friends will miss him dearly.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Wayne's name to Presence St. Joseph Hospice Care or Christ Lutheran Church in Orland Park would be appreciated.

The family would like to offer a special thank you to Presence St. Joseph Hospice for the wonderful comfort and care provided to Wayne.

A celebration of Wayne's life will begin on Tuesday, December 2, 2014 with a visitation at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service to be held in the funeral home chapel at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Walt Ledogar officiating. Per Wayne's wishes cremation rite will be accorded.
