Walter A. Lustik, age 89, entered into eternal life on Thursday, May 19, 2016 with his loving family by his side.
Walter is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Jo Lustik (nee Vidmar); loving children, Marla, Kevin (Jim), Darren, and Jeffrey Lustik; as well as numerous loving nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Antonia (nee Zbacnik) Lustick; brothers and sisters, Frank Jr. (Evelyn) Lustick, Ann (Louis) Bottino, Sr. Clara Lustick OSF, Nettie (Joseph) Gulas, Margaret (Tom) Astorino, Lillian (Raymond Sr.) Soliman, and Bernadine (Stanley) Mufich; two nieces; and one nephew.
Walter was a member of the Slovenian Union of America Branch #20, KSKJ St. Joseph Lodge #2, St. Joseph Seniors, St. Joseph Holy Name Society. Walter was in the Navy from 1945 to 1947 serving on the U.S.S. Clay. He worked for 40 years as a machinist and after retirement loved playing horseshoes at Garnsey Park.
Special thank you to Walter’s home health nurse, Sandy, for her wonderful care and to Presence St. Joseph Medical Center ICU team and the Palliative Care Staff for their caring and support during this trying time.
A Celebration of Walter’s life will begin on Tuesday, May 24, 2016 with prayers in the funeral home chapel at 9:15 a.m. then driving in procession to St. Joseph Catholic Church Joliet for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, May 23, 2016 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet. St. Joseph Holy Name Society will conduct at prayer service at 6:00 p.m.
