Walter J. Baran, age 85, Army Veteran, beloved father, grandfather, brother, and uncle entered eternal rest on Friday April 15, 2022.
He is preceded in death by his parents John and Katherine Baran, sisters Wanda Baran and Josephine (Raymond) Popek, brother Edwin Baran, niece Pat (Ron) Iverson and three siblings in infancy, Katherine, Frank, and Stanley.
Left to cherish his memory is his daughter Melissa (Robert) Horvat , granddaughter Katherine Horvat, sister Theresa (Darcey) Molyneux and nieces Gail (Denny+) Kaiser, Diane (Gordy) Crowther, Joan (Tony) Pena, Rose McNamee, Janet (Rusty+) Stworzyjanek, and several great nieces and nephews.
Walter was a lifelong salesman and had the gift of gab. Prior to retirement he was the president and owner of Industrial Equipment Sales. Throughout his life he was a member of numerous clubs and enjoyed socializing, traveling, and playing horseshoes at the VFW in Lockport.
A celebration of Walter’s life will be held on Thursday, April 21, 2022 Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Following Visitation family and friends are invited to Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, 20953 W Hoff Rd, Elwood, IL for a 12:30 p.m. funeral services, the family ask you arrive 15 minutes prior to schedule time of services at the cemetery.
