At rest on Wednesday, May 06, 2009 at her home in Crest Hill, IL. Survived by her two nieces, Madelyn (late Darryl) Mack and Carol (George) Steele; sister-in-law, Lois (late Edward) Smrekar and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband William Smrekar in 1992; parents Edward B. and Mable (nee Eib) Palmer; two brothers Lester and Ralph Palmer; two sisters Almeda (late Harold) Updike and Irene (late Andrew) Meyer and Charlie Meyer. Vivian was born on January 5, 1922 on a farm in Jackson Township. Retired from Ruberoid, GAF in 1977. She belonged to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Joliet, St. Patrick"s 55 Club, Ladies Auxillary VFW, Ladies Auxillary Elk"s and Will County Farm Bureau.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2009 at 10:00 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will be at St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will also be on Saturday at the Church beginning at 9:00 AM.
