Violet A. Vanchina

Violet A. Vanchina (nee Albert), of Crest Hill, IL, 87, went to be with her Lord on April 13, 2015 at Symphony of Joliet.
Violet was born July 1, 1927 in Joliet to Celia and Salvatore Albert.

Violet is survived by her sister, Virginia (late William) Callaghan of Shorewood; brother, Jack of Crest Hill; and sister, Connie (Paul) Schneider of Joliet, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her parents; and her best friend and the love of her life, husband Lawrence Vanchina.

Violet attended Central Grade School, Joliet Township High School, and graduated from Lockport Township High School after her family moved to Crest Hill.

She married Larry Vanchina on March 31, 1951 in St. Mary Nativity Church. They truly enjoyed each other and their many travels together throughout the USA during their 61 years together.

Violet retired from the Union National Bank after many years working as a teller. She was an avid reader with a lengthy list of reading accomplishments, as well as an enthusiastic puzzle worker.
Violet shared her love and kindness to her family and friends.

A Celebration of Violet's life will begin on Friday, April 17, 2015 with prayers in the funeral home chapel at 9:30 a.m. then driving in procession to St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Crest Hill for a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Mary Nativity Catholic Cemetery in Crest Hill. Visitation will be Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Rd, Joliet 60435.
