Viola W. Budzinski (nee Elwood), age 87, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 2, 2013 at Sunny Hill Nursing Home in Joliet.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 66 years, Raymond Budzinski; her beloved children, Kathleen (Frank) Henriksen, Sandy (Randy) Calcaterra, Ray (Nancy) Budzinski; grandchildren, Tracy (Tim) Hare, John (Jen) Henkel, Breanne and Paige Calcaterra, Brian and Mike Budzinski; great-granddaughter, Ashley Hare; her cherished sister Rosemary (Norbert) Zielinski, sister Rita (the late Robert) Blaskie; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins also survive.
Preceded in death by her parents Walter and Rose (nee Faulkner) Elwood; one sister Anna Mae Broseau; and one brother Jack Elwood.
Viola was a graduate of Providence High School and worked at Zayer's and JoAnn Fabrics. She loved to read, crochet, make wonderful ceramic pieces, spend time outdoors and go shopping. Viola was always thinking about her family and putting them first. She was an incredible wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be dearly missed.
The family would like to offer a special thank you to the staff at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home and the staff in the third avenue wing at Sunny Hill Nursing Home.

A Celebration of Viola's life will begin with a service on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at the Tezak Funeral home chapel to take place at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Joliet. Visitation will be on Monday, August 5, 2013 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Rd, Joliet.
