Victoria Hernandez, age 86, passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2021 with her loving family by her side.
Victoria is survived by her children, Telesforo H. (Juanita) Mecinas, Maria Yolanda Hernandez, Jose M. (Michelle) Hernandez, Sonia Hernandez and Adam (Reyna) Hernandez; grandchildren, T.J. Mecinas, Teresa V. (Alex Fenili) Hernandez, Andy Hernandez, Shawnn and Alyssa Hernandez, Adam X. and Joaquin Hernandez; great-grandchildren, Christian and Nathan Fenili and Delilah Hernandez; sister, Teodora Hernandez Hernandez; numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents, Jose Hernandez and Raymunda Garcia; siblings, Auscencio Hernandez, Aurora Hernandez Santiago, Daniel Hernandez, Modesta Hernandez Davila and Artemio Hernandez.
Victoria was happiest when she was with all of her family and was so proud of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed her word search puzzles and watching western movies. There was never a bad time to listen to her favorite musicians, Pedro Infante, Jose Alfredo Jimenez and Vicente Fernandez. She will be truly missed by all who knew her.
A celebration of Victoria’s life will begin on Tuesday, March 2, 2021 with a visitation at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary Nativity Catholic Church in Joliet on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery in Joliet. Face masks and social distancing are required.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of the nurses and doctors that helped care for their mom.
