Victoria A. Bernickas ""Vicki"" (nee Sporar)

Age 89, at rest Monday, February 26, 2007 at Joliet Area Community Hospice Home. Loving mother of Patricia A. (Frank) Mason and John V. Bernickas; dearest grandmother of Jeffrey P. Mason and Amy V. (Jacob) Foose; great-grandm-other of Parker Mason and Katelyn Foose. She is also survived by three sisters, Mary (late Anthony) Gaspich, Kathryn (late Frank) Thomas and Lorraine (Robert) Rolih; one brother, Stanley (Mary Jane) Sporar; one sister-in-law, Kaye (late Matthew) Sporar; her bowling partner, Dorrie Papesh; dearest friend, Carolline Fosberg; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Victoria was the last surviving aunt to numerous nieces and nephews of her husband's family. Preceded by her loving husband of 51 years, Victor A. Bernickas (1993); parents, Matthew and Katrina (nee Grbac) Sporar; and two brothers, Matthew and William Sporar. Victoria was born in Joliet and a life-long resident. She worked for General Instrument Corporation for 20 years and then retired from Seron Manufacturing after over 21 years of service in 2001. Victoria was an avid fisher-woman and bowler and was the State of Illinois Senior Bowling Champion in 1987. She loved her cats ""Lady,"" ""Blacky"" and ""Moma Cat."" Victoria was a member of VFW Cantigny Post Ladies Auxiliary and Slovenian Women's Union. Contributions to Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated. Tezak Funeral Home 1211 Plainfield Rd.
