Age 94, at rest Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at Joliet Area Community Hospice Home.
Loving mother of Catherine (Raymond) Walls; dearest grandmother of Cathy (Mark) Siegel, Carl (Pam) Walls, Karen (Mike) Kapinus and Charles (Lynnette) Walls; seven great-grandchildren, Carl Walls Jr., Staci and Brian Kapinus, Alyssa and Kaitlyn Walls, Mark Siegel and Courtney Denewellis; sister-in-law, Jennie (late Bernard) Karruckas; also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceded in death by her husband, Frank R. Gutnik; parents, Simon and Catherine (nee Jasinouskas) Karruckas; two sisters, Ann (Clifford) Boyd and Agnes (Anthony) Marentic; two brothers, Stanley and Bernard Karruckas.
Veronica was born in Oglesby, IL and resided in the Joliet and Rockdale areas throughout her lifetime. Retired from St. Joseph Hospital after ten years of service and was a member of St. Judes Church.
In lieu of flowers donations to Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated.
A chapel service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, November 22,2008 at 11:am. Interment Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday Morning from 9:am until time of service.
