Valeria "Val" P. (Brnca) Wittenkeller

Valeria (Val) P. Wittenkeller, nee Brnca, 92 years, passed away at Joliet Area Community Hospice.
Survived by two daughters, Jeanette (late Michael) Lyons of Bloomington, Minnesota and Jodene (Mark) Hertko of Homer Glen; one son, Willard Wittenkeller Jr. of Lockport; one brother, Raymond (late Agnes) Brnca of Joliet; four grandchildren, Jessica (William) Batterman, Christopher Lyons, Kristin (Tyler) Young and Elyse Hertko; three precious great grandsons, Noah, Finn, and Reed Batterman; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her loving husband, Willard (2000); her parents, Joseph and Kristina Brnca; one son, Ricky at infancy; one grandson, James Hertko at infancy; three brothers, Stephen (late Bernice) Brnca, Joseph (late Dora) Brnca and Daniel (late Dolores) Brnca; three sisters, Mary (late John) Rubocki of Texas, Emily (late Adolph) Oberts of Joliet; and Anna at infancy.
Born in Joliet, Ill. and moved to Lockport, Ill. in 1957. Member of The Daughters of Isabella. As a young adult, Val worked as a waitress at the Louis Joliet Hotel. 'Val and Willie' owned and operated Wittenkeller Dental Lab from 1952 until retirement in 1985. She loved fabrics and design and was an excellent seamstress. Her life was devoted to her family and friends. She loved hosting celebrations for birthdays, holidays and special occasions.

Funeral services will be held Friday, February 3, 2017 at 9:45 a.m. from Tezak Funeral Home (1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet, IL) then driving in procession to St. John Vianney Church (401 Brassel St., Lockport, IL) for Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Interment S.S. Cyril & Methodius Cemetery. Visitation, Thursday, February 2, 2017 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
