Age 51. At rest Friday August 26, 2011 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home with his family by his side, after a short, hard fought battle, with cancer.

Survived by his loving children; Tiffany ""Arizona"", Tim ""Joliet Bomber"", Mary Ellen ""Mouse"", Patrick ""Fats"", and Hollie ""T"", 4 grandchildren, his mother; Mary Ellen (late Fredric) Voorhees, his father, Raymond (Margaret) Smeets. 2 sister; Raelene (Jeff) Mills, and Melissa Peters, and 1 brother, Roland Landrey. Numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

Timothy was born in Joliet, and was a lifelong area resident. He was a self-employed painter. Tim was very family oriented. He loved the outdoors, fishing, and camping. Tim loved his music, especially Elvis. He was a very caring and loving man. He was dearly loved by his family and will be greatly missed.

In lieu of flowers, contributions to the family would be greatly appreciated.

Funeral services for Timothy P. Smeets will be Tuesday August 30, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Fr. Jeff Stoneberg officiating. Interment Elmhurst Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of services.
