Timothy E. Kilroy

“Tim”

Age 79 of Channahon, passed away peacefully after a prolonged illness following a heart surgery on Friday, September 8, 2023 at Lightways Hospice Care in Joliet with his family by his side.

Born August 18, 1944 in Chicago, Tim was a son of Thomas and Ellen (Sheehan) Kilroy. He was raised and educated in Bellwood and graduated from Proviso West High School with the class of 1962. Tim was a proud Irishman and devoted Notre Dame Fan. He was an active guy who enjoyed riding motorcycles, working on cars and attending car shows, going boating, taking walks in nature at Four Rivers in Channahon and playing cards with friends and family. He was a longtime member of the American Legion Post 298 in Morris and found a “second” career working at the Rt. 66 dragstrip, which he absolutely loved. Tim will be deeply missed by all of those that knew him.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years: Caren (Longo) Kilroy; daughter and son-in-law: Lauren and Scott Lemke; grandchildren: Taylin and Kai; sisters: Judy Perosa and Thomasine Kniceley, and numerous nieces and nephews.
