Thomas P. Fabek

Thomas P. Fabek Age 81, at rest Monday, August 17, 2009 at the Joliet Area Hospice Home with his family by his side. Survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Marie (nee Glad) Fabek; loving father of Gerry (Len) Bregar, Jeanne (Chuck) Rapp, Tom (Robin) and Tim (Darlene) Fabek; dearest grandfather of Joe (Dea), Jeff, and Paul (Nicole) Bregar, Mike (Lee) Rapp, Christine (Bryce) Davis, Laura (Jeff) Grozik, Jennifer Rapp, Tom, Dave , Mark, Nick and Stefanie Fabek; great-grandchildren, Dakota, Bode and Caden Bregar, Tyler and Ella Davis, Madeline and Lacey Grozik; one brother, Robert Fabek; and one sister, Dolores Fabek; sister-in-law, Rita (late Charles) Fabek; brother-in-law, Clarence (late Victoria) Wedic also survived by numerous brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents Paul and Anna (nee Horvatic) Fabek, four sisters Victoria Wedic, Stephanie (Martin) Hotuyec, Ann (Andrew) Shepich, Catherine (Louis) Pounovich, two brothers Michael (Loretta) and Charles Fabek. Thomas was born in Joliet and most recently resided in Lisbon, IL., retired from Union Oil after 37 years of service, Veteran WWII U.S. Navy, member of the Joliet Moose #300, American Legion #1080, Croatian Club, member and past President of the Joannite Seniors of St Mary Nativity Church and Senior Citizens Association of Joliet. The most important thing to Tom was his family. He was proud to say he was able to spend time with four generations at numerous family gatherings. He enjoyed caring for his flowers and garden, always sharing the abundance of vegetables he enjoyed growing. Contributions to the Joliet Hospice Home in his name would be appreciated.

Prayer services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 9:30 then to St. Mary Nativity Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be Celebrated at 10:00am. Interment St. Mary Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2 to 8:00pm.
