Thomas A. Cemeno
Age 96 of Joliet, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 28, 2021 at his home with family by his side.
Thomas proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II, and started working at an early age at the Chellino Cheese Company, a family-owned business. He served as President and Co-Owner up until the time of his passing. Thomas will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife: Veronica “Polly” (Werner) Cemeno; his son: William (Arlyd) Cemeno; four grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents: Joseph and Theresa (Chellino) Cemeno; his sister: Carm (Frank) Turk, and three brothers: Fred (Elsie), Anthony (Theresa) and Joseph (Janice) Cemeno.
Family will receive relatives and friends for a visitation on Sunday, October 31, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road in Joliet. On Monday, November 1, 2021 a short visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until time of funeral service in the funeral home chapel beginning at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow and Thomas will be laid to rest at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Joliet.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made as gifts in Thomas’s memory to a charity of your choice.
