Thomas F. Ausec

Thomas F. Ausec, age 72, passed away on Tuesday, July 3rd, 2018 with his loving family by his side.

Thomas is survived by his caring daughters, Amy (Job) Purcell, Sara Glass, Jenny (David) Black; grandchildren, Nathan, Ryan, and Evan Purcell, Eli Glass, and Olivia and Owen Black; brothers, Ronald (Missy) and Robert (Barbara) Ausec; dear friend and mother of his daughters, Karen (Larry) Shiner; nephews, Michael and Matthew Ausec; and niece, Kelli Nunez.

Preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Frances (nee Shega) Ausec and son-in-law, Stephen Purcell.

Thomas was born and raised in Joliet, Illinois. In 1963, he graduated from Joliet Catholic High School. He was also a graduate of Lewis University. Thomas was a sports enthusiast and enjoyed watching his grandchildren play basketball and baseball.  He was a die-hard Cubs fan who loved joking and laughing with his friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Thomas’s name may be made out to The American Diabetes Association.

A celebration of Thomas’s life will begin on Friday, July 6th, 2018 with a visitation at Tezak Funeral Home (1211 Plainfield Rd. Joliet, IL) from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m then driving in procession to St. John the Baptist Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Joliet.
