Theresa Kuban

Theresa M. Kuban (nee Palla) A�??GiGi,A�?i�� of Joliet, IL, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at the age of 95. She was born in Joliet on March 3, 1918, and was a resident of Joliet and Boulder, CO.

Theresa attended St. MaryA�??s Carmelite School, worked numerous jobs and retired from American Can. She was most known for her positive attitude, creative hobbies and fabulous baked goods, most notably potica and toffee. She was actively involved in her grandchildren and great grandchildrenA�??s lives and particularly enjoyed watching them play sports.

Theresa is survived by her two daughters Carol (Tad) Koch and Sharon Dow; her 4 grandchildren, Laura (Todd) Kinsella, Michelle (Todd) Kingsbury, James J. (Amy) Dow and Suzanne Dow; her 9 precious great-grandchildren, Brett, Sarah, Troy, Adam and Shane Kinsella, Jake and Lauren Kingsbury, Carter and Emma Dow. Also surviving are her sister, Anne Paul; Richard Dow; and nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents Mary Rubocki (nee Gerencir) and Louis Palla Sr; her beloved husband Joseph R. Kuban (1977); one son Joseph R. Kuban III (in infancy); her siblings Mary Komovich, Elizabeth Simon, Louis Palla Jr., Barbara Kovics Murphy and Isabel Palla.

Per TheresaA�??s wishes cremation rites have been accorded. The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday, May 10, 2013 at The Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus for a memorial visitation from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Romeoville.
