Theresa A. Jordan
March 22, 1917 — January 1, 2015
Theresa A. Jordan (nee Zelesnik), age 97, passed away peacefully Thursday, January 1, 2015 at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center with her loving family by her side.
Theresa was born in Joliet, IL on March 22, 1917 to the late Frank and Theresa (nee Riffel) Zelesnik and a resident of Crest Hill for most of her life. She passed away on the birthday of her son Joseph who was the first baby born in Will County in 1959.
Preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 61 years, Michael A. Jordan (2002); son, John M. "Jack"; grandson, Sean M. Sweeney USN; brother, Frank; and sisters, Frances (Jim) Counts and Julie (Larry) Skolds.
Survived by her children, Mary Jean (the late Henry) Sweeney of Sheridan, IL; Michael J. (Theresa) of El Paso, TX; Kathleen (Joseph) Walsh of Homer Glen, IL; Theresa "Terry" of Tarpon Springs, FL; Joseph (Tania) of Santa Cruz, Bolivia; James, Frank and Susan (Dale) DelSasso of Crest Hill, IL; Also 15 grandchildren ; 11 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was a devoted mother, seamstress and baker of potica and apple strudel and loved to dance the polka. After her children were grown, her passion became buying and selling at garage sales. She loved helping the less fortunate with food and clothing.
A Celebration of Theresa's life will begin on Monday, January 5, 2015 with a visitation from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Rd, Joliet, IL 60435 then driving in procession to St. Anne Catholic Church in Crest Hill for a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 11:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Joliet.
