Tarree "Hobo" Hosey Jr., 69, passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2025, in New Lenox, IL.
Born to Tarree Hosey Sr. and Hazel Gavin-Hosey, he was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend who left an indelible mark on everyone who knew him.A proud graduate of Joliet West High School, Tarree was a dedicated wrestler for his school and went on to further his education at Joliet Junior College. After high school, he served his country with honor, retiring after a distinguished career in both the Army and the National Guard.For 37 years, Tarree worked as an electrician with Com Ed, where his expertise and dedication made him a respected figure among his colleagues. A true die-hard Cubs fan, he loved watching games and spending quality time with his family, especially his cherished grandchildren. His love for his family was immeasurable, and he always made sure they knew how much they meant to him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tarree Hosey Sr. and Hazel Gavin’s; his brother, Cameron Hosey, William Hosey, and his beloved brother-in-law, Henry Albert Fairley.
Tarree leaves behind his loving daughter, Shannon E. Hosey (James Williams) and his stepson Desmond Green, his adored grandchildren, Mariah Hosey, Lola Green, James Williams III, and Olivia Williams; his siblings: Fredia (Henry +) Fairley, Geraldine (Tim) Stilwell, Mark (Mary) Hosey, John Patrick Hosey, Stephanie Moffett; as well as his Special niece Dailey A. Moffett, a host of nieces, nephews, and special cousins from Detroit. He also leaves behind his special friend, Solita Green-Hosey.
A celebration of life visitation will be held on Thursday, April 10, 2025 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Rd, Joliet, IL
Funeral Services will be held on Friday, April 11, 2025 with everyone meeting at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church, 1710 Carey St, Joliet, IL. with visitation beginning at 10:00 am up to the funeral hour with services beginning at 11:00 am, burial will follow and conclude at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, 20953 W. Hoff Rd., Elwood, IL where he will be laid to rest with honors.
