Sylvia Therese Adams

Age 97 of Joliet and formerly of Chicago and Bass Lake, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 18, 2020 at Rock Run Place Assisted Living in Joliet.

Born February 6, 1923 in Chicago, Sylvia Therese was a daughter of Laurence and Anna (Ruz) Janowski. She was raised and educated in Chicago and graduated from Kelly High School with the class of 1941. Sylvia worked as a school administrative assistant for 30 years and then retired to Bass Lake, Indiana. In her free time she enjoyed flower gardening, cooking and reading. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Sylvia is survived by her children: Susan Adelle Adams, Clifford Arthur Adams and Faye Schimanski; grandchildren: Todd Adams, Angelina Macchione, Molly Alford and Sarah Knezevic, as well as numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Laurence and Anna; husband: Arthur T. Adams, and siblings: William Janowski, Adeline Dudek and Helen Janowski.

Sylvia will be laid to rest at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery in Justice at a later date.
