Susan A. Ivanich

Susan A. Ivanich (nee Yurkovich), age 67, passed away suddenly on Friday, February 21, 2014.

Susan is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Daniel Ivanich; her children, Brian (Ann) Ivanich and Amy (Rob) Weierman; grandchildren, Trevor, Tytus and Ezekeial Ivanich, Evan Galipeau, Daniel Weierman, and Channing Weierman; brothers, Dale (Theresa), Robert (Margaret), and Jeffrey Yurkovich; and aunt Margie (the late Bill) Horwath. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Genevieve (nee Horwath) Yurkovich; brother, Anthony (in infancy); special aunt and godmother, Betty Hrubos.

Susan was born and raised in Joliet, graduated from St. Mary Nativity grade school, St. Francis Academy and St. Joseph School of nursing. She then went on to work at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center in the labor and delivery department for 15 years. Susan enjoyed the St. Patrick grade school class of 1954 reunions. She was a professional shopper, an avid gardener and a wonderful cook. Susan's greatest asset of all was her family; she enjoyed spending every minute with them and will be sorely missed.

In lieu of flowers donation in Susan's name to the family, wounded warriors, or the KSKJ Scholarship Fund would be greatly appreciated.

The family invites relatives and friends to join them for a Memorial Mass to be celebrated at St. Mary Nativity Catholic Church in Joliet on Thursday, February 27, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. Per Susan's wishes cremation rites have been accorded. Inurnment at a later date. Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 26, 2014 at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet, IL from 4-8 p.m.
