Susan Hochstadter, 88, and long-term resident of Oak Park died peacefully surrounded by family on July 18th 2024.
She was born on December 6th 1935, to Regina and John Artingstall. She was the youngest of three children, with two sisters, Jean and Elizebeth. She graduated from Oak Park/River Forest High School and went on to work at West Suburban Hospital for 40+ years. On June 1st, 1964 Susan married the love of her life, Irving Hochstader, who preceded her death. Together, they had three lovely children; John Hochstadter, Karen Greskoviak (Rich), and Elizabeth Spellman (Tom). After retiring in 2000 from West Suburban Hospital, she took on the role of being a grandmother and later on becoming a great grandmother. With many memories, Susan played a special role in Thomas (Kristi), Kathryn (Dayton), Rebecca, and Jareds lives. Though she will be greatly missed, she survived by Karen and Rich, her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Additionally, she was welcomed into heaven by her late parents, husband Irving, son John, and daughter Elizabeth into internal life. The family would like to thank Rock Run Memory Care and Cornerstone Hospice for their loving care towards Susan.
