Stewart M. ("Stu") Demsky

March 10, 1954 — June 16, 2016

Stewart M. Demsky, transitioned on June 16, 2016, at Joliet Area Community Hospice surrounded by family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Judy; one brother, Stanley (Carol) Demsky; also nieces, nephews, cousins, and good friends.

His parents, Stanley and Veronica Demsky, preceded him in death.

Stu was retired from Exelon Corporation, Braidwood Station, where he was a member of IBEW Local 15.

His love of music was well known by all friends.  He had an avid interest in stereo equipment, and electronics in general.  He was the music “coordinator” through the years, whether at home or at social gatherings at friends’ houses.  He could fix almost anything and was a friendly and all-around great guy.  He is deeply missed.

It was Stu’s wish to be cremated and have a private service.

In Memory of Stewart M. Demsky

One Year Memorial

My Dearest Stu,

Is it really a year?  I never thought it possible that I’d still be alive
No real will to live, but something else steers the ship
Guiding through the heavy darkness with glimmers of Light

You were my best friend, my happiness, laughter and fun
All just a sad and beautiful memory now, except in my dreams
Hope for more Light is all that remains

I learned so much from the privilege of living with you
And you always allowed me to be me
Accepting my flaws without judgment or question

You were more than I could have ever hoped for in this life
You loved me no matter what, and more than yourself
I have compassion for those who have never felt that love here

I miss you so very much, in every cell of my being
Yet I would rather you were not here with me
Than have you suffer for even one minute

It is said by those who make the trip part way and return
That loved ones on the other side greet us when we leave here
I certainly hope that is true, and I want to believe

I realize that it won’t be anything like it is here
But far beyond, and more alive, like truly coming “home”
Love never dies, only our misperceptions that we are separate

For those here who long for love yet unfulfilled
Will know that love and so much more
That’s what they say, and I wish that for everyone

Love Forever,
Judy
