Stephen John Rodriguez

Stephen John Rodriguez, age 65, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 2, 2018 with his family by his side.

Stephen is survived by his daughter, Dawn Short; grandchildren, Josh and Hailey Short; brothers, Philip, Michael (Melissa) and Dave (Tina) Rodriguez; sister-in-law, Susan Rodriguez. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Preceded in death by his parents, Philip D. and Jane E. (nee Savala) Rodriguez.

Stephen was born and raised in Joliet. He graduated from SS. Cyril and Methodius School and Joliet Central High School, class of 1970. He retired from Commonwealth Edison after 36 years of dedicated service. He was a member of the Key Club, enjoyed dabbling in photography, was a committed and avid pool player and was a great storyteller. Stephen was always willing to help anyone in need and will be truly missed.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Stephen’s name to his grandchildren’s education would be greatly appreciated.

A celebration of Stephen’s life will begin on Saturday, February 10, 2018 with a visitation at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.  Interment to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Joliet.
