Stephen "Steve" J. Jenco Sr., age 86, of Joliet, passed away peacefully at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home on Monday, February 3, 2014.
He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Adeline (nee Pietrzak); his children, Steve (Linda) Jenco, Mick Jenco and Dave Jenco; grandchildren Melissa (Mike) Trice, Michelle Jenco, Chris Jenco, Joe Jenco, Tasha Jenco, David (Brittany) Jenco and Danielle Jenco; great-granddaughter Juliana Jenco; brother Joseph (Janis) Jencon; Sisters Mary (Anton) Krasovec, Lorraine (Steve Pomykala) (Larry) Brown, Jeanette (Raymond) Page; numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Mary (nee Svircek) Jenco; siblings Andrew Jenco, Margaret (Leo) Bordeaux, and Lawrence (Barbara) Jenco.
Steve was a proud United States Navy veteran serving during World War II. He retired from Commonwealth Edison Co. in 1987 where he was a lineman for 35 years. He was a member of the Holy Cross Church, Joliet Moose Lodge #300, and Cantigny Post #367.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Joliet Area Community Hospice or Holy Cross Catholic Church, Joliet, would be appreciated.
Steve's family would like to thank the staff ("the angels") at the Timbers of Shorewood, and the staff at the Joliet Area Community Hospice for all of their loving care and attention.
A celebration of Stephen's life will begin on Friday, February 7, 2014 with prayers in the funeral home chapel at 9:20 a.m. then driving in procession to Holy Cross Catholic Church in Joliet for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Joliet. Visitation will be on Thursday, February 6, 2014 at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet, IL from 4-8 p.m.
