Stephen Michael Cook, age 56, born February 5, 1961 in Evergreen Park, IL, at rest on Friday, January 26, 2018 with his loving family close by his side.
Steve is survived by his beloved wife of 29 years, Kathy (nee Foster) Cook; loving children, Meagan (Jeffrey Lisciandrello) Cook, Kayla and Patti Cook; numerous brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews also survive.
Preceded in death by his loving mother-in-law, Katherine Foster; grandfather, Joseph Balestri; best friend, Robert “Butch” Hansen; and his dog, Shorty Boy.
Steve was a proud member of the IBEW Local #176 and worked for the College of St. Francis. He was a past member of the Ingalls Park A.C. He truly lived life through simple pleasures. With a love for fishing, drawing and writing poetry for the family and friends he cherished dearly. Steve lived for football and hockey season (Go Bears! Go Hawks!). He had an uncanny ability to light up any room with his quick wit and charm and will be profoundly missed.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Steve’s name to Joliet Area Community Hospice or the family would be appreciated.
A celebration of Steve’s life will begin on Saturday, February 3, 2018 with a memorial visitation at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. A service will be held in the funeral home chapel at 1:00 p.m. Per Steve’s wishes cremation rites have been accorded.
