Stanley R. Natonek

Stanley R. Natonek, age 92, born into eternal life on Tuesday, February 12, 2019.

Stanley is survived by his children, Louise Natonek and Stan (Kim) Natonek; grandchildren, Courtney, Stanley and Lance Natonek; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved grand-dog, Wrigley.

Preceded in death by his loving wife, Eve A. (nee Pavich) (2018); parents, Stanley and Jennie (nee Kosek); siblings, Dorothy (Paul) Thomas and Louis (Harriet) Natonek.

Stanley was an electrical engineer who worked numerous jobs, most recently retiring from Commonwealth Edison after 17 years of service. He was a proud United States Navy Veteran and member of the American Legion Post #1080. Stanley enjoyed playing volleyball and was proud that he was able to do so until he was in his fifties. He also greatly enjoyed playing bridge and poker. Stanley was a top ranked bridge player in the nation and had an incredible talent for reading his opponents while playing poker. Traveling with his children and grandchildren to Walt Disney World and Branson created amazing memories that will continue to make the family smile. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Stanley’s name may be made to St. Anne Catholic Church in Crest Hill or the Diocese of Joliet-Retired Priests and Nuns Foundation.

A celebration of Stanley’s life will begin on Monday, February 18, 2019 with prayers in the funeral home chapel at 9:45 a.m. then driving in procession to St. Anne Catholic Church in Crest Hill for a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at Risen Lord Cemetery in Oswego. Visitation will be held on Sunday, February 17, 2019 at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
