Sophie F. Raspolich

Sophie F. Raspolich, age 96, passed away April 9, 2012 at Lakewood Nursing and Rehab in Plainfield. Survived by her loving children Ron (Kathleen) Raspolich and Sharon (William) Porter; grandchildren Paul (Janine) Raspolich, Michelle Russ, Marie (Mark) Carlson and Cynthia (Thomas) Egizio; 8 great grandchildren; brother Leonard (Iris) Chapp; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband John P. Raspolich; her parents Ignatius and Victoria DuChance; step-father Michael Chapp; sister Helene Hightower; brothers Peter DuChance, Joseph (Ann) DuChance and Stanley Chapp.
Sophie was born in Joliet and was a lifelong resident. She was a member of the St. Mary Carmelite Alumni Club and Holy Family Parish in Shorewood.
The family would like to thank the staff of Lakewood Nursing and Rehab for the special care given to Sophie. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her name to ChildrenA�??s Memorial Foundation or to Joliet Area Community Hospice.
A Celebration of SophieA�??s life will begin on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at 9:15 am with prayers at the funeral home chapel, then in procession to Holy Family Parish for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Tezak's Home to Celebrate Life.
