Somsanith "Nith" Raxavong

Somsanith “Nith” E. Raxavong, 60, of Joliet, IL, died April 5, 2022, after a two year battle with colon cancer.

He leaves behind his wife, Kinna Raxavong, son, Alex Raxavong and daughter, Tiffanie Raxavong all of Joliet, IL, along with 3 brother and 2 sisters in Laos and Thailand. He was preceded by his parents, Khamtam and Huangchai Raxavong, a son, Eric Raxavong, two brothers and a sister.

Nith never let his illness slow him down. He spent the last 2 years preserving his beloved classic 1982 Corvette and showed off his hard work at classic car shows in Joliet.

A native of Laos, he moved to Massachusetts in the mid-80’s and then to Illinois in the early 90’s meeting his wife.

Nith loved music of all kinds of languages. He played guitar in his own band and passed his talents off to his children. He will be dearly missed by everyone who knew him.

Family will receive relatives and friends for a visitation and chapel service from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 10, 2022 at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road in Joliet.
