Socorro Manzano,76, departed from this world on Tuesday, February 6, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. Born to the late Agustin Corral and Catalina Valdez, she is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Gabino Corral Valdez (Isaura Leal), sisters: Enedina Corral Unzueta (Zacaria Unzueta +), Amelia Unzueta (Chano Unzueta +), and Manuel Corral Valdez.

Socorro was a woman of remarkable strength and spirit, carving her own path as a successful business owner. Her entrepreneurial journey was a testament to her resilience, dedication, and the pursuit of her dreams.

Beyond her professional achievements, Socorro was an avid traveler who explored the beauty of foreign lands with a sense of wonder and adventure. Her travels enriched her life, allowing her to appreciate the diversity of cultures and forge lasting memories.

A loving and devoted mother, Socorro raised four children with boundless love and care. Her legacy of kindness, strength, and familial devotion lives on through her children: Jesus Manzano (Randy Paulson), Julissa Herrera (Rafael), Alfredo Manzano (Adriana), and Anthony Manzano.

In her later years, Socorro embraced the role of a wonderful grandma, creating cherished moments with her grandchildren: Cinthia Herrera and  Carina Manzano. Her love extended beyond her immediate family, touching the lives of numerous nieces and nephews who will forever carry her influence in their hearts.

Visitation to honor Socorro's memory will take place on Thursday, February 15, 2024, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Rd in Joliet, IL.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 16, 2024, at 11:00 am at Our Lady of Mt Carmel Catholic Church, 205 East Jackson St, Joliet, IL, with burial to follow at Mt Olivet Cemetery, 1320 E. Cass St., Joliet, IL.

Socorro Manzano's life was a tapestry woven with love, resilience, and adventure. May her soul rest in eternal peace, and may her memory continue to bring solace and inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Nacida de los ya fallecidos Agustin Corral y Catalina Valdez, le precedieron en la muerte sus padres, su hermano Gabino Corral Valdez (Isaura Leal) y sus hermanas: Enedina Corral Unzueta (Zacaria Unzueta +), Amelia Unzueta (Chano Unzueta +) y Manuel Corral Valdez.

Socorro fue una mujer de notable fortaleza y espíritu, labrando su propio camino como exitosa dueña de un negocio. Su trayectoria empresarial fue un testimonio de su resistencia, dedicación y la búsqueda de sus sueños.

En sus últimos años, Socorro abrazó el papel de una maravillosa abuela, creando momentos entrañables con su nietas: Cinthia Herrera y Carina Manzano. Su amor se extendió más allá de su familia inmediata, tocando las vidas de numerosos sobrinos y sobrinas que llevarán para siempre su influencia en sus corazones.

La visita para honrar la memoria de Socorro se llevará a cabo el Jueves 15 de Febrero de 2024, de 4:00 pm a 8:00 pm en Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Rd en Joliet, IL.

Los servicios fúnebres se llevarán a cabo el Viernes 16 de Febrero de 2024, a las 11:00 am en la Iglesia Católica de Nuestra Señora del Monte Carmelo, 205 East Jackson St, Joliet, IL, con el entierro siguiente en el Cementerio de Mt Olivet, 1320 E. Cass St., Joliet, IL.
