Shirley M. (Halweg) Harvey

Shirley M. (nee Halweg) Harvey, age 93, entered into eternal life on Saturday, December 23, 2017.

Shirley is survived by her loving sons, James (Pam), Thomas (Karen), Daniel (Mari Ann), Dennis (Kim), and Ronald Harvey; cherished grandchildren, Jerry, Tim, Rick, Mike, Liz (John) Fox, Nick (Amy), Geoff, Tom, Anthony, Amanda (Douglass) Glidden, Alison (Thomas) Aadahl, John Paul, Jesse, Joshua, Misty (Matt) Canfarelli and Grant; numerous cherished great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 73 years, Jerome A. Harvey; three sons, Jerome P., Michael C., and William J. Harvey; parents, Herman and Zola (nee Spangler) Halweg; and siblings, Charles, Bud, Gordon and Dorothy.

Shirley was a lifelong resident of Joliet, IL. She was a graduate of Joliet Township High School.  Shirley was a devoted wife and mother. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Shirley was an avid gardener, loved flowers and classical music, especially Mozart. She was an incredible cook and enjoyed to travel. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Shirley’s name may be made to St. Jude Catholic Grade School, 2204 McDonough St, Joliet, IL 60436 and would be greatly appreciated.

A celebration of Shirley’s life will begin on Saturday, January 13, 2018 with a visitation from 9:30 a.m. until the time of funeral service to be held at 11:30 a.m. at Tezak Funeral Home (1211 Plainfield Rd, Joliet, IL 60435). Interment to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
