Shirley A. Betancourt, of Channahon, at rest March 12, 2010 at home.
Survived by her daughters; Julie Edwards, Kathy Edwards, and Lesley Edwards; grandchildren; Sherry, Stephanie, Sonya, Bobby, Matthew, Kaylynn, and Jenna; and 4 great grandchildren. Also survived by her sister; Pat Emmerson and her children, Richard, Peter, Gail, and family; and her brother; Leslie Sanford and family.
Preceded by her husband, Luis R. Betancourt, and her parents Gladys and Alfred Sanford in England.
Shirley was born in England and moved to the United States in 1957 and has resided in this area most of her life. She retired from Kerr Glass after 30 years of service. Shirley was an avid euchre player for over 30 years at various venues in the area. She also enjoyed helping out at Glasscock"s Farm selling sweet corn.
Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 14 at 6:00 PM. Visitation will be from 2 PM until time of service at Tezak Funeral Home.
