Scott Michael Surges

Age 64 of Joliet, passed away early Wednesday morning, October 13, 2021 at his home.

Born June 14, 1957 in Joliet, Scott was a son of Gordon and Lois (O’Neil) Surges. Scott graduated from Joliet Catholic High School and worked for the City of Joliet Street and Water Departments for a total of 34 years. On September 13, 1980, he married Julie Ann Cunico and together they made a home and raised their family in Joliet.

Scott was retired and loved spending his free time fishing, working in the yard, and following sports of all kinds. His greatest love of all was spending time with his family, friends and especially his grandchildren.

Scott is survived by his loving partner: Julie; his beloved daughters: Amber (Tony) Abercrombie and Aimee Surges; his granddaughters: Aubrey Michelle Abercrombie and Addyson Grace Abercrombie; sister: Karen (Tom) Simon; brother: Mark (Linda) Surges and sister: Kris Honiotes, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Gordon and Lois; mother and father-in-law: Barth and Elsie Cunico, and brother-in-law: Chris Cunico.

Per Scott’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.
