Scott A. Freeland

Scott A. Freeland, age 61, of Joliet, IL passed away suddenly at Joliet Area Community Hospice on Thursday, October 9, 2014 surrounded by his loving wife and family.
Scott is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Gail (nee Onchak) Freeland, one sister, Shari Freeland of Tucson, AZ; special brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Alan & Mary Onchak; special niece, Tammy (Keith) Mauzer and special nephew Alan Onchak; great-nieces, Alyssa Mauzer and Abby Mauzer; special friends, John and Toni Freckelton; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Scott will also be missed by his loyal companions Otis, Sofie & Kiska.
Preceded in death by his parents, Gerald & Virginia (nee Ostrem) Freeland; his father and mother-in-law, Joseph & Stella (nee Zembruski) Onchak; and sister-in-law, Joanne Dutkiewicz (nee Onchak).
Scott was the owner and operator of Backyard Structures for fourteen years.
He also enjoyed golfing and woodworking.
The family would like to offer a special thank you to the Intensive Care staff at Silver Cross Hospital and the Joliet Area Community Hospice for their wonderful care.
Memorials in Scott's name to Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated.
Per Scott's wishes, cremation rites have been accorded and services will be private.
