Sandra E. Wysocki (nee Burgett)
Age 78 of Joliet, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 5, 2024 surrounded by her loving family at Sunny Hill Nursing Home.
Born September 26, 1945 in Joliet, Sandy was a daughter of her father: Opal Gunter and her parents: John and Beatrice (McDonald) Burgett. Sandy was a lifelong Joliet resident, devout Catholic and longtime parishioner of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Joliet. In her free time, she enjoyed spending time in her garden and going shopping. Her most treasured times were always spent with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren. Sandy will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but never forgotten.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years: Bill Wysocki; sons: Edward (Dorann) Wysocki, Micheal (Lisa) Wysocki and Steven (Lisa) Wysocki; grandchildren: Kirsten, Zoe, William, Evan, Kari, Jason, Samantha and Drake Wysocki; sisters: Judith (William) Vessel, Jackie (Fred) Stone, Pamela (Harry) Holland and Roxy (John) Sheridan; brothers: Jeffrey Burgett, James (Judy) Gunter, Frank Gunter and Carl Gunter; beloved uncle: Jack McDonald; her dear friend: Sue Pacin, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins, and her special feline companion: Turbo.
Sandy is preceded in death by her parents: John and Beatrice Burgett and her father: Opal Gunter; brothers: John, Larry and Tim Burgett, and her grandmother: Lola McDonald.
Per Sandy’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 830 Elizabeth Street in Joliet. Interment will follow and Sandy will be laid to rest at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois.
