Salvador Rangel

Salvador Rangel, age 88, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 with his loving family by his side.

Salvador is survived by his loving children, Harvey (Mary) Rangel, Salvador (Linda) Rangel Jr., Leroy (Yolanda) Rangel, Joanne (Robert) Del Angel, Robert (Grace) Rangel, Henry (Sylvia) Rangel, Lorraine (Martin) Rangel-Gonzalez, Vince (Jill) Rangel, Helen Rangel-Juarez, Raymond (Jackie) Rangel, Ruth (William) Anderson, and Irma Rangel; sister, Irene Rangel-Guerra; Terry (Martina) Estes; as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Clemencia Rangel (nee Salas); great-grandson, Salvador Joseph Pena; brother, Ismael Rangel; and sister, Guadalupe Rico.

Salvador was born and raised in Del Rio, Texas before moving to Joliet as a young man. He retired after many years from Les Brown, where he worked as a foreman for the furniture designers. Salvador had a great love for fishing and puzzles. He also loved to play cards and always beat everyone in Rummy.  He had great joy for spending time and talking with his sister, Irene. Salvador was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

A celebration of Salvador’s life will begin on Monday, December 10,  2018 with a funeral service to be held at 10:00 a.m. at Tezak Funeral Home. Interment to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Joliet, IL. Visitation will be on Sunday, December 9, 2018 at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
