Salvador Michael Magana, age 32, passed away on Monday, May 24, 2021.
Salvador is survived by his mother, Mary (Orozco) Magana; father, Salvador Z. Magana; one son, Salvador Adrian Magana; siblings, Lisa (Rafael) Guzman and Michelle (Magana) Mejia; former brother-in-law, Oscar Mejia; one niece, Alyssa; three nephews, John, Christian and Oscar; numerous cousins, aunts and uncles; special friends, Adrian Cerrillo, Artie Moralez, David De LosAngeles, Paco Uribe Garcia, Isabel Lopez, David Haro and Matt Rohe.
Preceded in death by his maternal grandparents. Angeline L. Orozco and Augustine C. Orozco; paternal grandparents, Angelina Zepeda Magana and Salvador Magana Blanco.
Salvador was a lifelong resident of Joliet. He graduated from St. Joseph Catholic Grade School and attended Joliet Central High School. Salvador was a great friend to so many. Wherever he went, Sal’s smile could light up the room. When Sal gave you a hug you could feel the love. He was known for his cooking and ability to entertain a crowd. He will be missed by all who knew him.
A celebration of Salvador’s life will begin on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 with a visitation at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of prayers in the funeral home chapel at 11:30 a.m. then driving in procession to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Joliet for a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 12:00 noon. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Joliet.
