Ruth A. Brown

Ruth A. Brown, age 76 of Rockdale, passed away in the comfort of her home on September 6, 2024. She was born to Marion and Ruth (nee Ricks) Johnson in Joliet, IL on November 29, 1947 and was raised in New Lenox, IL. 

Ruth had a long career as a Secretary and Administrative Assistant with multiple firms, most recently with the Lockport Moose Lodge. After her husband Edward’s passing in 2004, Ruth was known to enjoy gardening, creating and admiring all different types of floral arrangements, and especially visiting area garage sales as she hunted for hidden treasures.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her dear husband Edward, as well as her brothers James and David Johnson.

Ruth is survived by her devoted daughter Dawn (Mark) Pirc (nee McKinney), her loving son Jason (Stephynie) McKinney, David “Butch” Mason with whom she shared a special bond, granddaughters Hollie, Ashley, and Kendall, grandson Colin, and great grandchildren Ava, Carlee, and Nora. Many nieces, nephews, and other loved ones also remain to carry her memory in their hearts.

A private interment service has taken place at Resurrection Cemetery in Romeoville, IL where Ruth has rejoined Edward and the two will remain side by side for all of eternity.
