Rudolph Kezele Age 90 entered life on earth August 27, 1919, returned home to the Lord on January 21, 2010. Rudy died peacefully at home with his family by his side and the support of Joliet Area Community Hospice staff, Pat, Wanda, Suzanne, Sandy and Maraline.
Rudy is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Rose (Lobas); daughter, Janis Passehl, son, Dr. Gary Kezele; grandchildren, Robert (Sheila) Passehl and Janine Passehl; great-grandchildren, Savonnah, Ella, Ava, and Elias Passehl; sister, Rose (late Robert) Spolarich; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Rudy was preceded in death by his parents, Kathryn (Ruzich) and Anton Kezele; brother, Gus (Tillie); and sister, Josephine (Frank) Klancher.
Rudy was a lifelong resident of Joliet and a member of St. Mary Nativity Church. He served as a dispatcher in the Army during WW II in England and France. Member of Cantigny Post 367 and was a Press Operator with Fisher Body, retiring in 1981. Rudy loved spending time with his family, playing pinochle, attending antique car and motorcycle shows, gardening, playing his concertina and tinkering. Rudy could fix anything and was always helping someone.
Rudy's life will be honored and remembered on Saturday, January 30, 2010 at Holy Cross Catholic Church (901 Elizabeth St., Joliet) with a visitation from 10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. followed by a memorial mass celebrated by a family friend, Fr. Tim Andres O. Carm. Per Rudy's wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.
There will be no services at the funeral home.
